KANSAS! Magazine Releases Second Kids’ Edition for Students Across the State

Building on the success of its inaugural issue, KANSAS! magazine, an award-winning subscription publication produced by Kansas Tourism, is proud to announce the release of its second annual edition of KANSAS! Kids — a magazine created specifically for Kansas students in fourth through sixth grade.

Designed to spark curiosity and encourage young Kansans to see their state in new ways, KANSAS! Kids brings learning to life through engaging stories, vivid photography and kid-friendly exploration of Kansas history, geography, people and places.

“Inspiring passion and love for Kansas starts at a young age – it certainly did for me, and that love has lasted all my life. It matters that we educate and show young Kansans all the amazing opportunities and experiences that are available to them right here at home,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “The KANSAS! Kids magazine displays what life in the Sunflower State looks like — and supports our goal of having more young people choose to keep Kansas their home as they grow and pursue their dreams.”

In the newest edition, students will learn about the trailblazing spirit of Amelia Earhart, take a behind-the-scenes look at the daily life on McCarty’s Dairy Farm — and get weird and wacky with Kansas’ larger-than-life roadside attractions. Readers will also explore the state’s richly diverse geography — from prairies and plains to rivers, hills and hidden wonders — and many other stories that make Kansas so unique.

“Kansas has incredible stories, and young Kansans deserve to see themselves reflected in those stories,” Kansas Tourism Director Bridgette Jobe said. “The magazine is designed to plant seeds of curiosity about Kansas land, history and significant figures who also call this state home.”

As with the first edition, all fourth- through sixth-grade students across Kansas — along with subscribers to the magazine — will receive a complimentary copy of the second edition of KANSAS! Kids magazine. The release is timed to support classroom learning and statewide celebrations for Kansas Day on January 29.

Additional copies of KANSAS! Kids can be ordered here. To subscribe to KANSAS! magazine, visit the webpage here, where print and digital subscriptions are available year-round — and copies of each issue can be found on newsstands throughout the state.
